Assistance Given to Inundation Survivors in Rawa Terate

The East Jakarta Social Sub-agency together with PMI have distributed assistance for inundation survivors at RW 05, Rawa Terate Urban Village, Cakung District.

Head of East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Agata Bayu Putra said the distribution of this assistance is a follow-up to a request from the local urban village.

The in-kind assistance provided includes 279 bags of 5-kilogram rice and 279 bags of two-liter cooking oil.

"Other assistance included 279 bottles of sweet soy sauce, 558 packets of biscuits, 558 cans of sardines, 279 boxes of instant noodles, 279 goodie bags, and 50 boxes of mineral water," he said, Tuesday (1/13).

According to him, based on the results of data collection, the number of buildings affected reached 171 units with a total of 213 houses used as residences or rented houses.

"A total of 279 families, totaling 865 people, were affected. All residents did not evacuate and chose to remain on the second floors of their homes," he added.

Head Section of Public Relation and Communication for East Jakarta PMI, Agus Bastian stated his party also provided assistance in the form of 1,000 slices of bread and 40 boxes of mineral water.

"We symbolically handed over our aid at the post and it was received by the local RT/RW administrators, as well as flood survivors," he stated.
